wintermission (iv)

San Fran was an enjoyable re-descovery after twenty six years. Nice architecture, decent food, good coffee and a beautiful vibe around the whole time we spent there.

Linea Caffe S.F. was a perfect stop to start our day under the right dose of caffeine and the appropriate Sunday flavour. Unfortunately we didn't have the time to try their waffles, which looked worth the extra time.

wintermission (iii)

Driving up from Los Angeles came with a number of spectacular views, and this one was one of the most memorable ones, not only because of this sunset, but because of the elephant seal we saw right before this photo was taken.

wintermission (ii)

Clint's town was a real surprise. Yes, ex-mayor Eastwood should be very proud of his pretty little town on the Pacific coast.

wintermission

Snow is beautiful, and a little bit of a white polar winter can be fun. But after a few weeks, being back in a warm sunny place is kind of nice, even if the location happens to be some weird sort of ugly and trashy place.

music city crema

Other flavours in the capital of country music blew our minds. This recent Tennessean adventure caught our palate by surprise.

A phenomenal bourbon cherry pie -above- we had on Hermitage Avenue, at this exquisite coffee brewtique called Crema, was the most impressive recipe of the week. It happened to be the perfect match for my seasonal bourbon barrel sorghum lattes, with a little bit of grated nutmeg on top. They both provided an ideal and fully unanticipated way to start our cold days in town.
